Your life is primarily made up of your habits.
Bad habits=Bad life
Do you feel like you have no control over your life? I have news for you, we all feel that way. It's not easy to have a great day, everyday. Here's one major realization for me this year: My life is made up of my habits. When I'm in the habit of reading, exercising, eating clean, calling Friends, setting goals, setting agendas, making time for my wife and kids…..my life is significantly better. When I'm in the habit if eating too much, watching a ton of movies, sleeping late, spending money and complaining, my life sucks.
So what are some of your habits? Write down the things you do everyday and then check off which ones are positive and then circle the negatives. There's a blurry line sometimes. Like for me, watching movies is how I relax, and I'm a big proponent for setting time for that. Sometimes though, it can also be a negative for me. I'll watch 2 every night and eventually neglect some work.
Now, once you have the bad ones circled, think of a comittment to replace it with. For me, instead of watching a movie, I listened to great podcasts or music while I cleaned my kitchen. And I mean, I got surgical with it. Haha. Giving it my best. Try it out and let me know how you make out.
